What rarity actually decides
Heroes don't have individual stat sheets — every hero on a rarity tier shares the exact same level curve, so the six-line roster table below is the real, complete picture. The endgame column is each curve's Lv 130 cap:
| Rarity | Heroes | Unlock pieces | Attack @ lv cap | HP @ lv cap | Evolution tops at |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Me, Berserker, Cactus, Guardian | 10 | 2,135 | 1,373,176 | Exotic |
| Fine | Barbarian, Daisy, Princess, Ranger | 30 | 7,278 | 5,907,383 | Exotic |
| Rare | Jhin, Drake, Magma | 50 | 14,098 | 12,948,296 | Exotic |
| Epic | NingNing, Bellen, Katarina | 70 | 25,017 | 223,871,434 | Exotic |
| Legendary | Punisher, Phoenix | 100 | 31,306 | 527,055,819 | Exotic |
| Ancient | Ellyn, Storm | 100 | 46,870 | 1,177,225,148 | Exotic |
| Mythic | Azio, Blaster, Solarius | 100 | 91,825 | 3,898,930,653 | Exotic |
| Exotic | Freyja, Hana, The Skull | 100 | 202,638 | 83,872,906,452 | — |
So yes — raw numbers differ a lot between tiers if you stop there: a Native Exotic like The Skull sits at 202,638 attack at the cap while a starter like Me has 2,135. That gap is exactly what the "dead end" crowd is looking at. It's also where they stop looking.
Evolution: the equalizer
CostumeEvolutionData sells a bridge from every rarity to
the Exotic curve, paid in hero pieces, Evolution Stones and Red Orbs. Your
power curve follows your current rarity — evolve a tier and your
entire level curve moves up to that tier's numbers, retroactively. And
because the chain definition is per-tier, the whole roster's paths fit in
one table:
| Native rarity | Steps | Total cost to endgame | Pieces / step | Ends at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 7 | 5,500 pc + 325 stones | 786 | Exotic curve |
| Fine | 6 | 3,390 pc + 320 stones | 565 | Exotic curve |
| Rare | 5 | 2,960 pc + 310 stones | 592 | Exotic curve |
| Epic | 4 | 1,550 pc + 290 stones | 388 | Exotic curve |
| Legendary | 3 | 1,670 pc + 255 stones | 557 | Exotic curve |
| Ancient | 2 | 1,250 pc + 200 stones | 625 | Exotic curve |
| Mythic | 1 | 840 pc + 120 stones | 840 | Exotic curve |
| Exotic | 0 | none needed | 0 | Exotic curve |
Case study: Azio, the 840-piece door
Azio is the textbook argument against the dead-end claim, so he gets the spotlight. Native Mythic, daggers, 100 pieces to unlock, kits out with Leap Combo — a teleport strike that grants an Attack Speed buff whenever the target is debuffed, upgraded twice more through the 1–6★ ladder:
- Without evolving: Mythic curve, capping at 91,825 attack / 3,898,930,653 HP at Lv 130 — already the second-highest curve in the game, topping every tier below Mythic.
- One evolution step: 840 pieces + 120 Evolution Stones + 3 Red Orbs, and his entire curve jumps to Exotic: 202,638 attack (+121%) / 83,872,906,452 HP. Same hero, full endgame numbers.
That's the whole grind for a Mythic: one step. Deep link his full sheet — levels, milestones, stars, evolution — on the Heroes & Evolution page.
So where does the claim come from?
Fair question, and the answer is that it's directionally about things the data can't settle:
- Kit differences are real. Azio, Blaster and Solarius share every stat number, but their skills don't behave the same — the tables describe the skills, they don't rank them.
- Time is the resource. A Normal-tier hero at endgame cost 6.5× the pieces of a Mythic. "Not worth it for me" is a legit verdict — but it's an efficiency argument, not a dead end.
- Old guides age. The roster and chains changed across patches; a hero "left behind" by a changelog wasn't removed from its evolution path.
What the data doesn't support is "some heroes can't reach endgame." Every one of them has a paved road; some roads are just longer.
Verdicts, tier by tier
- Exotic natives (Freyja, Hana, The Skull): endgame curve from day one. Grind levels, not evolution.
- Mythics (Azio, Blaster, Solarius): one cheap step to the top curve — the best cost-to-endgame ratio in the game. If you're picking a main to take all the way, this tier is the fast lane.
- Ancient → Epic (Ellyn, Storm, NingNing, Bellen, Katarina, Phoenix, Punisher): 2–4 steps, mid-cost. Solid long-term picks with strong kits.
- Rare → Normal (the starters): 5–7 steps. Long, but identical destination — and they're the heroes you leveled first, so their milestone head start is worth something.
Plan around the pieces, not the fear. And when you want the exact per-step costs, the 1–6★ ladder or a build to test a hero against the tower walls, that's the Heroes & Evolution page, the Hero Builder and the DPS calculator.
