Hero Runes & the Tomb of Heroes

The official 26.0.0 sneak peek just dropped two new systems on us — a dungeon where legendary heroes gather, and gear that upgrades a hero's actual skills. Here's everything announced, plus what our extraction of the current build says about what's really coming.

Supercent's community team posted the full 26.0.0 sneak peek on the official XP Hero Discord, alongside a before/after gameplay short. We've summarized every confirmed detail below — and then went one step further: we swept our entire extraction of the current build (v25.3.0) to see what the game's own files say about what's coming. Short version: both systems ship entirely new, and we can prove it.

Left to right: the Mimic and Treasure Mimic already in our bestiary — likely the Tomb's "Mimic Room" namesakes — and magic_runecircle, the only "rune" art in the current build (it's a skill effect, not the new system).

Tomb of Heroes — the dungeon

A dungeon where shadows of legendary heroes gather. The announcement confirms:

Bestiary crossover: mimics are already established monsters in the game — and their lore reads like it was written for this dungeon. The Treasure Mimic is "a predator disguised as a forgotten treasure chest."

Treasure MimicA predator disguised as a forgotten treasure chest. The older it grows, the more convincing its disguise becomes.

Runes — new gear that upgrades skills

Runes are new equipment that equips like a weapon, in two flavors:

Progression: dismantle the Runes you don't need into Rune Powder, then spend Powder plus other materials to upgrade the ones you're keeping. A dismantle-and-reinvest loop — familiar territory for anyone who's been through Weapon Craft.

What we don't know yet: rune types, levels, costs, drop sources, and which Heroes get Runes first. None of that was in the sneak peek — and none of it is in the current build either (see below).

What the current build tells us

Features often ship dormant — tables and strings parked in the files long before the switch flips. So we swept our full extraction of v25.3.0 at every layer:

0rune entries in 153 data tables
0rune keys in 3,543 locale strings
5raw byte hits — all magic_runecircle FX
0mentions of Rune Powder, anywhere

The raw-file sweep covered all 8,344 Unity data files, byte by byte. The only "rune" the current build contains is magic_runecircle — a magic-circle skill effect that predates this system entirely.

We checked the Tomb's keywords too, because honest data work means reporting the near-misses: strings for Tomb, Sanctuary and Mimic do exist in v25.3.0 — but they're red herrings. "Lost Sanctuary" is Chapter 1's name, and the Mimics are existing field monsters. (The raw "tomb" hits were mostly the French word tombé.)

Conclusion: there is no dormant rune data. The entire system — tables, locale strings, art, the Rune Powder currency — arrives with 26.0.0. That also means the current build can't tell us costs or numbers; anyone claiming specific rune stats today is guessing.

When it drops, we're ready

The day 26.0.0 lands, the pipeline runs: extract the new APK's data files, and the site updates itself — every number on every page is regenerated from the game's own tables. This post gets updated with the real rune tables: names, types, levels, costs, and which Heroes they belong to.

What we're watching for in the new files:

  1. New data tables — something like RuneData / RuneLevelData (the game's table naming is consistent).
  2. New locale keysRUNE_NAME_*, RUNE_DESC_*, and the Tomb's room/boss names.
  3. A new currency — Rune Powder should appear in the item table next to Gold, Gems and the orb family.
  4. Dungeon tables — difficulty tiers, stage waves, and the Tomb's item pool.

Until then: level up, stockpile your dismantling candidates, and get ready to read the actual numbers here first.
